Firing up for Fall!!

A number of men have asked me, "When do we start back with our men's ministry stuff?" During the summer we typically take a break but now that fall is here, we fire things back up. On Friday, September 11 at 6:30 AM, Tom begins teaching a 2- semester series on the Book of Acts. This biblical study will focus on how Christ works in His Church through the Holy Spirit's ministry today. This study for men meets in the Tejas Room and will involve some outside study. Call Tom at the church office if you have further questions or just show up on Friday morning.

On Tuesday, September 15, we begin Men's Fraternity. This year's focus is on "The Great Adventure" and will help each man more clearly understand who he is and how is wired so he can pursue the adventure for which he has been designed. I will host this 20 week installment and we will learn from Robert Lewis' excellent insights as he leads us through this valuable material. As I have prepared for this series, I think this year will be the most practical and helpful installment of the Men's Fraternity material. Remember, these are "stand alone" series, so a man does not have to have attended previous Men's Fraternity series to be able to attend or benefit. Be sure to sign up and encourage your friends to sign up. This will be a "safe" place for men to meet and grow together.

Yours for the adventure,

Reggie

Almost there!!!

Hey Men,

We are on the verge of finishing our 2nd year of Men's Fraternity. This year through "Winning at Work and Home" we have been challenged to live out the "Paradox Principle" (die to live). As we adopt that perspective, we move strongly toward being effective men in our homes and in our work places.

Our last session will be on Tuesday, March 10. At that time, after watching our last video session with Robert Lewis, we will celebrate the men who have "graduated" from the 2nd year of Men's Fraternity. In order to graduate, each man needs to give me a copy of his "10 Key Moves" page that tells what 10 things he plans on implementing in the next 6-12 months. What "moves" will you make in regard to your relationship with your mate? What "moves" do you need to take toward your children? What about work? What "moves" do you need to make there to win?

This morning, in Session 13, Robert said that one mistake businesses make is trying to equip people to be more effective in the areas of their weaknesses rather than training them to be stronger in there areas of strengths. How many salesmen have been "promoted" to sales manager and been frustrated because they do not get to work in the area of their passions/strengths? It makes sense. Learn how you are wired by God and pursue that direction for your life.

Feel free to call me if you would like some help assessing your strengths. We have some resources available that can help you as you continue your journey in authentic manhood.
